When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
A manufacturing quality issue is suspected within a certain date code range of speedometer and tachometer module groups. The needle on the RPM gauge may stick.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect the date code on all part numbers that are identified in Image1 that are currently in dealer parts stock. If the date code is labeled with the date code range starting at August 1 2010 and continuing through October 31 2010 the part must be removed from the dealer parts stock.
The date code is a 13-digit number that can be found on the back of the part. The last six digits represent the manufacturing date. Refer to Image2 for the location of the date code.
EXAMPLE DATE CODE: 1903730092510 indicates that the part was manufactured on September 25 2010.
