Note: If some other method is used to pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system, do not exceed 50 mm (2.0 inch) of mercury of vacuum. Exceeding this value could cause permanent damage to the hydraulic tank.
Install vacuum cap (3) onto hydraulic tank (4) .
Connect hose (2) to vacuum cap (3). Route the other end of the hose into a suitable container in order to collect any oil that may drain from the hose.
Connect air hose (1) to vacuum cap (3) .

Disconnect hose (6) from connection (5) .
By using a new 3J-1907 O-Ring Seal, install a 8C-8431 Tee onto the connector (5). By using another new 3J-1907 O-Ring Seal, reconnect the brake line (6) to the 8C-8431 Tee assembly. Also, install a 6V-3965 Fitting As to the 8C-8431 Tee assembly.
Disconnect the air hose and remove the vacuum cap.
Install the filler cap.
Mount the winch to the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Winch - Install". Also, it is possible to refer to Special Instruction, "Installation of the Winch on the D5K Track-Type tractor".Test for the Brake Oil Pressure
Support the winch and remove the mounting bolts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Winch - Remove" for the procedure to separate the winch from the machine.
Install hose assembly onto 6V-3965 Fitting As (5) in Step 7 of "Installation of the Pressure Tap".

Install a hose assembly onto pressure tap (3) .
Connect a gauge assembly onto the other end of the hose assembly.
Enter the machine.
Fasten the seat belt.
Start the engine and run the engine at LOW IDLE.
Select the switch for the BRAKE OFF position.
Record the following readings onto the worksheets: brake oil pressure for the winch and charge pressure for the front pump Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Worksheets - Troubleshoot".
The charge pressure for the front pump at pressure tap (3) should be 2650 150 kPa (384 22 psi).
The brake oil pressure that is found at the pressure tap that was previously installed in Step 7 of "Installation of the Pressure Tap" should be the same value as the pressure at pressure tap (3) .
