TURBOCHARGER GP 3836683 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the seat and seat frame from the operators compartment.2. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank.3. Remove handle (1). Remove floor plate (3) and plate assembly (2). 4. Remove knob (5) from the control lever.5. Remove arm cushion and bracket (4). Remove cover assemblies (6) and guard as a unit. 6. Disconnect wires (7) and (8) from the switch.7. Remove cover assembly (9) from the machine. 8. Disconnect oil line (10) from the hydraulic tank and the hydraulic control valve and remove it. 9. Disconnect oil lines (11) and (14) from the hydraulic control valves.10. Disconnect oil lines (12), (13) and (15) from the tee fittings. 11. Disconnect control linkages (16) and (17) from the hydraulic control valves. 12. Remove bolts (18) that hold the hydraulic control valves in place. Remove hydraulic control valves (19).Install Hydraulic Control Valves
1. Put hydraulic control valves (1) in position and install the bolts that hold it in place. 2. Connect control linkages (2) and (3) to the hydraulic control valves. 3. Connect oil lines (6), (7) and (8) to the tee fittings. Connect oil lines (4) and (5) to the hydraulic control valves. 4. Put oil line (9) in place and connect it to the hydraulic control valve and the hydraulic tank. 5. Install cover assembly (10). 6. Connect wires (11) and (12) to the switch. 7. Install guard (13) and cover assemblies (14) as a unit.8. Install the arm cushion and knob on the control lever. 9. Install plate assembly (15). Install the handle and the floor plate.10. Fill the hydraulic tank to the correct level. See Maintenance Guide.Disassemble Hydraulic Control Valves
Start By:a. remove hydraulic control valves1. Clean the outside of the hydraulic control valve. Put identification on all parts for correct assembly. The number of valves that a machine has is controlled by the number of attachments the machine is equipped with. 2. Remove nuts (1) from the rods that hold the hydraulic control valve group together.3. Remove manifold (2) and control valve (3). 4. Remove spring (4), valve (5) and O-ring seal (6) from the control valve. 5. Remove two screw (11), plate (7) from valve body, and seals (12) from the valve spool.6. Remove two bolts (9), cap (10), spacers (8) and the two shims. 7. Remove spool assembly (13) from the control valve body. 8. Disassemble the valve spool as follows:a. remove retaining screw (19) from spool (13)b. remove spring (18) and washer (25) from detent (17).c. remove adjustment screw (20) from retaining screw (19). When detent (17) is removed from spool (13), the four balls (21) are free to fall out.d. remove detent (17) from spool (13).e. remove guide spring (24) and guide (23) from spool (13).f. remove spring (16), spacer (22), cam (15) and valve (14).9. Repeat the above procedures for the remaining control valve group if necessary. Assemble Hydraulic Control Valves
1. Make sure all the parts of the hydraulic control valves are clean. Put clean oil on all parts of the valve.
