Information:
Clean or Replace Pressure Cap
The radiator cap is located on the top left front of the machine. 1. Remove the radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure.2. Inspect the cap for damage, deposits or foreign material. Clean the cap with a clean cloth or replace the cap as necessary.3. Install the cap.Clean Outside of Radiator Core
Remove bolts and open the radiator guard on the front of the machine.Compressed air, high pressure water or steam can be used to remove dust, leaves and general debris from a radiator. Clean as required by condition of radiator.The use of compressed air is preferred.Refer to "Know Your Cooling System," Form SEBD0518, for the complete procedure and instructions.Fuses and Circuit Breakers
Replace Fuses
The fuses are located in the dash. Fuses - They protect the electrical system from damage caused by overloaded circuits. Change a fuse if the element separates. If the element of a new fuse separates, have the circuit checked and repaired.
Replace fuses with the same type and size only. Otherwise, electrical damage can result.If it is necessary to replace fuses frequently, a electrical problem may exist. Contact your Caterpillar dealer.
Windshield Wipers and Washers (1) - 10 amps. Rear Lights (2) - 10 amps. Side Lights (3) - 10 amps. Horn (4) - 10 amps. Back-up Alarm (5) - 10 amps. Electronic Monitoring System (EMS) (6) - 10 amps. Hour Meter/Guages (7) - 10 amps.Circuit Breakers/Reset
Circuit Breaker Reset - Push the button in to reset each circuit breaker. If working properly, the button will remain depressed. If the button does not stay in, or comes out shortly after being reset, have the appropriate electrical circuit checked. Blower Motor (1) - 15 amps Alternator (2) - 60 amps Key Start and Ether Aid (3) - 10 amps Front Lights and Dash - This circuit reset is automatic and does not have a button to depress.Suspension Seat
Lubricate Fittings
Lubricate 9 fittings if unusual noise occurs when positioning the seat.Power Train Oil System
Clean the Scavenge Line Screens
The power train screens must be removed and cleaned if the power train oil pump fails, or if the transmission or torque converter are dissembled for any reason.Do not crush domed screens.
The oil must be drained before cleaning the screens. 1. Remove the floor plate to gain access to the torque converter and the power train oil pump. 2. Remove the torque converter scavenge line screen cover.3. Remove the screen. 4. Remove the power train oil pump cover.5. Remove the screen.6. Wash the screens in clean, nonflammable solvent.7. Install the two screens and covers.8. Install the floor plate. 9. Remove the transmission scavenge line screen cover.10. Remove the screen.11. Wash the screen in clean, nonflammable solvent.12. Install the screen and cover.Hook Control Linkage

Do not use a wire rope cable that is kinked, frayed or has worn spots.Wear gloves when handling
