Introduction
Note: Adjust the seat for a new operator or at the beginning of each shift.The operator should be seated against the seat backrest. Adjust the seat fore/aft so that the operator is allowed full travel of the pedals.Note: Before adjustment of the seat, identify the type of seat that is equipped with your machine. To identify the Suspension Seat, you will notice a damping lever located on the left of the seat base. To identify the Caterpillar Advanced Ride Management (CARM) Seat, you will notice LED lighting on the left of the seat base to show proper ride zone height.Note: Place this document with the Operation and Maintenance Manual on the machine for the operators future reference.Note: If this document is needed in a different language, then contact your Caterpillar Dealer.Caterpillar Advanced Ride Management (CARM) Seat

Swivel lever (1) - The seat is equipped to rotate 30° in 10° increments. Pull up on lever (1) for seat rotation. Rotate the seat right or rotate the seat left until the desired position is attained. Release the lever in order to lock the seat into position.
Seat recline lever (2) - Pull up on lever (2). Move the back of the seat forward or move the back of the seat backward until the desired position is attained. Release the lever in order to lock the back of the seat into position.
Fore/Aft lever (3) - Pull up on lever (3). Move the seat forward or move the seat backward until the desired position is attained. Release the lever in order to lock the seat into the desired position. If the seat is loose on the suspension, tighten the set screws. Refer to the topic that covers the seat in your machine in Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, Disassembly and Assembly, RENR2165 for the correct procedure.
Seat height and weight control knob (4) - Pull out on knob (4) in order to move the seat downward. Push in on the knob in order to move the seat upward. Release the knob in order to lock the seat in the desired position.

Ride Zone Indicator FilmRide Zone Indicator (5) - The ride zone indicator lights are located on the bottom left side of the seat. The ride zone indicator lights are visual indicators to show proper adjustment of the seat as well as power to the seat. Only adjust the seat while seated and the machine is stationary.
Green/Blue - A solid green ride zone indicator light and a solid blue power indicator light indicate that the seat is in the proper ride zone height and has power.
Blinking Green/Blue - A blinking green ride zone indicator light and a solid blue power indicator light indicate that the seat is outside of the recommended ride zone height but has power. Readjust the seat using control knob (4) until a solid green ride zone indicator light is achieved.
Blue - Only a solid blue power indicator light indicates that the seat has power but has a failure.
