Hauling the Machine
Check the travel route for overpass clearances to prevent collisions. Make sure there will be adequate clearance.
Remove ice, snow or other slippery material from shipping machine and loading dock, before loading the machine.
Always block the trailer or rail car wheels before loading the machine.Put the machine in the "transport position" and load the machine.Engage the parking brake.Stop the engine and remove the key.Lifting the Machine
IMPROPER LIFTING OR TIEDOWNS CAN ALLOW LOAD TO SHIFT CAUSING INJURY AND DAMAGE. 1. Extended stick models must have the transport pin in place for roading and removed when operating.Transport Position for 416, 426 and 436
Move the backhoe to the "transport position" when using the loader. Also when traveling on a road.See "Boom Transport Lock" in the "Operation Section" for transport information.Transport Position for 428 and 438
Additional attachment locking devices are required in some countries. Remove locking devices before operations begin. Close the backhoe bucket. Install the bucket retaining cable and cotter pins as shown. Position the backhoe bucket to the side. Install the lock pin to prevent any boom movement. Move lever locking devices around controls to prevent lever movement. Tilt the loader bucket back. Install the bucket locking bracket as shown. Raise the bucket off the ground slightly.Remove the pin from locking bracket and lower bracket onto the cylinder rod. Install the lock pin into bracket as shown. Move the loader controls to the HOLD position. Engage the loader control lever lock located below controls.
