Introduction
Machine interlocks prevent operation in manners for which the machine was not intended. Certain conditions will prevent normal operation and can appear to the operator as a system problem. The operator will become familiar with the interlocks over a period of time. The new or occasional operator can use the following guidelines to determine if the interlocks are preventing normal operation.Engine Starting
The engine will not crank if:* The conveyor system is turned ON* The grade/slope system is turned ON The engine will crank but not start:* If any of the seven machine/engine remote stop switches are pushed in The CPC has starting interlocks programmed in but will not prevent the engine from cranking.Machine Propel
The machine will not propel if:* Engine RPM is less than 1000 RPM* Engine RPM is less than 2050 RPM with the rotor engaged* Rotor door is open* Parking brake engaged* The CPC detects a fault with the electronic propel system (indicator light blinking)Elevation (Manual)
The front of the machine will NOT lower if:* The rear is not first lowered approximately six inches The rear of the machine will lower:* To only an auto stop position* Past the stop position only by using the bypass switch There are no interlocks for raising the machine.Steering
The rear tracks will NOT steer if:* The engine was started with the Steering Selector in any mode other than REAR* The rotor door is open* The CPC detects a fault with the electronic steering systemRotor Control
The rotor will NOT engage if:* The rotor door is open* Engine speed is not between 1000 or 1200 RPM (Blinking segment in tachometer goes solid)* Kickback ski is not properly set (pulled rearward)* CPC detects a fault with the electronic rotor control (indicator light blinking)Rotor Service Door
The rotor service door will NOT open if:* The mold board down pressure is engaged* If grade control system is ON.
