1. Fasten a hoist to stub shaft. Remove bolts (2) and the bolts that hold the spider and bearing assemblies to the yokes. Remove stub shaft (1). 2. Remove four bolts (3) and remove spider and bearing assembly (5) from the stub shaft.3. Remove four bolts (4) and remove spider and bearing assembly (6) from the stub shaft. The following steps are for the installation of the stub shaft group.
Illustration 34. Put the spider and bearing assembly (6) in position on the stub shaft and install four bolts (4). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 160 15 N m (120 10 lb ft). Refer to Illustration 3 for the correct tightening sequence.5. Put the spider and bearing assembly (5) in position on the stub shaft and install bolts (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 160 15 N m (120 10 lb ft). Refer to Illustration 3 for the correct tightening sequence.6. Fasten a suitable lifting device and put shaft (1) in position between the yokes.7. Install bolts (2) that hold the spiders and bearing assemblies to the yoke.
