The parking brake is located on the front axle. The parking brake is manually actuated by the hand lever (1) and the cable (2). When the operator pulls up on the hand lever the lever pulls the cable. The cable (3) is fastened to the lever (5) on the caliper (4). When the cable is pulled the lever is rotated, moving against the force of the spring (6). The lever compresses the caliper and the brake pads put a clamping force on the brake disc.When the hand lever is disengaged the tension on the cable is released and the spring forces the caliper to spread apart. The brake pads release the brake disc. The drive shaft is free to rotate.
