V-BELT SET 1268915 - Caterpillar

Problem
Under certain tractor operating conditions, the service life of the current production fuel tank front retaining strap assembly could be unacceptable. A belleville washer was added to the strap retention configuration in production to act as an isolator spring to increase the service life of the strap end. Early 1999 model year Row Crop tractors shipped without this belleville washer strap retention, and early Row Crop tractors previously reworked with the current production fuel tank group under a previous Service Letter need be to reworked with this latest retention configuration. In addition, early 1999 model year Row Crop tractors need to have a rubber shield installed for additional protection for the auxiliary fuel tank transfer hose.
