Lift Kickout
Illustration 1 g01042573
(1) Switch (2) Assembly for switch holder (3) Magnet assemblyThe lift kickout system consists of the following items: switch (1), magnet assembly (3) and electromagnet. Switch (1) is located on the right side of the frame. Magnet assembly (3) is located on the lift arm pivot. The electromagnet is part of the lift pilot valve. Switch (1) is normally closed and switch (1) only opens when magnet assembly (3) makes contact. When the operator starts the engine, the electromagnets are energized. When the operator moves the lift control lever to the RAISE position, the bottom of the pilot valve spool contacts an energized electromagnet. The electromagnet will hold the lift control lever in the RAISE position. As the bucket raises, magnet assembly (3) on the lift arm pivot moves in the direction of normally closed switch (1) on the frame. When magnet assembly (3) nears the switch, magnet assembly (3) opens the switch. When the switch opens, the switch stops the flow of current to the electromagnet and the magnet breaks the electric circuit. With no current flow, the electromagnet is no longer able to hold the control lever. A spring in the pilot valve moves the control lever up to the HOLD position. A spring moves the pilot spool that is in the control valve to the HOLD position. The lift arms stop just before the lift cylinder rods are fully extended. The lift arms will stay at this position until the operator places the lift control lever in the LOWER position. When the operator moves the lift control lever to the LOWER position, the lift arms will lower. As magnet assembly (3) moves away from switch (2) the switch will return to the normally closed position.Note: Refer to Operations and Maintenance Manual for the 914G and 914G2 for more information on the lift kickout system.Bucket Positioner
Illustration 2 g01042581
(1) Tube (2) Electronic control group (3) MagnetThe bucket positioner consists of the following components: tube (1), electronic control group (2), magnet (3) and electromagnet. Tube (1) is mounted on the tilt cylinder. Electronic control group (2) is mounted on tube (1). Magnet (3) is mounted on the linkage. The electromagnet is part of the tilt pilot valve. When the operator places the tilt control lever to the TILT position, the bottom of the pilot valve spool contacts an energized electromagnet. The electromagnet will hold the lift control lever in the TILT position. As the bucket tilts, the tilt cylinder rod moves toward control group (2). When magnet (3) gets near the switch, the magnet opens the switch. When the switch opens, the switch stops the flow of current to the electromagnet and magnet (3) breaks the electric circuit. When there is no current flow, the electromagnet is no longer able to hold the control lever. A spring in the pilot valve moves the control lever to the HOLD position. A spring moves the pilot spool in the control valve to the HOLD position. The bucket stops at the correct angle
