Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the oil from the engine oil pan in a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities".

Remove bolts (2).
Remove engine oil pan (3) and the gasket. Installation Procedure

Position the gasket on engine oil pan (3). Apply Tooling (A) to the gasket.
Position engine oil pan (3) and install bolts (2). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).
Install tube assembly (1).
Fill the engine to the correct level with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities".
