Information:
1. Lift the rear wheels off of the ground with tooling (A). Install tooling (B) under the machine. 2. Install tooling (C) under the tandem on the side that the wheel, tire and rim is to be removed. This is so the tandem will not turn.3. Loosen the brake adjustment to prevent contact between the brake shoe and brake drum. 4. Remove four bolts (1) and (2) that hold the brake drum to the wheel.5. Remove the two corks from the wheel.6. Remove nut (3), lock and washer from the spindle. 7. Install tool (D) on the spindle until it is approximately 6.4 mm (.25 in.) from the wheel. It will be necessary to use four additional nuts and washers to remove the front rear wheel of the tandem because it does not have a brake drum. 8. Install tooling (E) and pull the wheel from the taper on the spindle. Remove tooling (E). 9. Fasten a hoist to the wheel, rim and tire as shown. Remove tool (D) and remove wheel, rim and tire (4). 1. Put key (1) in place on the spindle. Be sure the chamfer is toward the spindle. Make sure the keyways in the spindle and wheel are clean. 2. Fasten a hoist to the wheel, rim and tire. Put wheel, rim and tire (2) in position on the spindle. Make sure the keyway in the wheel is in alignment with the key on the spindle. 3. Install tool (A) on the spindle. 4. Install tooling (B). Push the wheel on to the spindle with a force of 265 13 kN (30 1.5 ton).5. Remove tooling (A) and (B). Install the four bolts and corks that were removed to install tooling (E) during removal of wheel. 6. Install washer (3), lock (4) and nut (5). Tighten the nut to a torque of 440 35 N m (325 25 lb. ft.).7. Make an adjustment for the brakes. See BRAKE ADJUSTMENT in TESTING AND ADJUSTING. 8. Lift the rear of the machine with tooling (D). Remove tooling (C) and (E). Lower the machine to the ground.
