Information:
Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.1. Park the machine on a hard smooth surface. Position the master pin of the track assembly on top.2. Move the track until the master pin is between the front track carrier roller and the front idler.3. Release the track tension. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Tension Cylinder - Remove" for a procedure to release the track tension.
Illustration 8844. Place Tooling (A) under a track shoe at the front of the track roller frame in order to support the track.
Illustration 8855. Use tooling (B) to remove eight track bolts and the eight track nuts that secure two track shoes that are located directly above the master pin.6. Attach a suitable lifting device to each track shoe. Use a hoist to remove each track shoe from the link assembly. The heaviest track shoes weigh approximately 75.25 kg (166 lb).
Illustration 8867. Use tooling (C) (not shown) to remove retaining rings (1) from each side of master pin (2).
Personal injury can result from the track coming off of the roller frame. The track can move off the track roller frame very quickly when a separation of the track is made.Keep away from the front of the machine when the track is removed from the track roller frame.
Illustration 8878. Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (D). The weight of the Tooling (D) is approximately 250 kg (550 lb). Install Tooling (D) around the master link. Use Tooling (D) and Tooling (E) to remove master pin (2).9. Move the machine backward in order to remove the track assembly from the track roller frame.10. Fasten a suitable hoist to the rear of the track assembly. Raise the track assembly and remove Tooling (A). Lower the track assembly to the ground.Connection Procedure
Table 58 Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in a cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Inspect all seals. If any seals are worn or damaged, use seals for replacement. All disassembly and assembly procedures must be performed in a clean work area. The pin bores of the track links should be toward the front idler.1. Attach a suitable lifting device to the track. Wrap the track onto the drive sprocket. Make sure that the track assembly is past the vertical center line of the drive sprocket.
Illustration 8882. Place Tooling (A) under a track shoe at the sprocket end of the track roller frame.
You must pull the cable in a straight line.
3. Attach a suitable lifting device to the track assembly. Raise the track assembly onto the front idler. Use a wheel loader or a suitable machine in
