This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS8525" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the January 3, 1996 Service Letter (Revised November 1996). Changes have been made to the Service Claim Allowances.

This program is to provide additional 3176 Product Support at truck engine overhaul. This program may only be applied at the time of overhaul and must be used in conjunction with a customer purchased 0R8216 Engine Kit. Some parts that do not typically require replacement at first overhaul may be needed in addition to the overhaul kit (reference the "Parts Needed" section of this letter). If additional parts covered in this program do require replacement, use this program to limit customer participation.

1. Determine if any parts listed in this letter will be needed in addition to the overhaul kit. Use the 3176 Engines Reuse and Salvage Guide, form number SEBF8214, to determine reusability. Warranty Administration will be auditing these parts to verify non-reusability.
