Note: Make sure that the filters and the screens are clean before you test any pressures. Make sure that the oil is at operating temperature before you perform these tests.Note: All tests and all adjustments must be made while the transmission oil is at normal operating temperature.
Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location that is away from operating machines and away from personnel.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the operator sight.
Rotate the steering wheel to a NEUTRAL position.
Move the transmission control to park to engage the parking brake.
Lower or retract the implements.
Stop the engine.
Turn the key to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
Verify that the implement controls are UNLOCKED.
Move the control levers through the full range of travel several times. Moving the control levers should relieve any pressure that may be present in the implement hydraulic system.

Location of pressure test ports
(1) Electronic Main Relief Valve (EMRV) pressure test port
(2) Interaxle differential (IAD) lock clutch pressure test port
Connect tooling (T1) to EMRV pressure test port (1) and IAD pressure test port (2) as shown in Illustration 3.

Connect to ETTest Procedure - Interaxle Differential Test
Ensure that the area is free of personnel and start the machine.

Refer to Illustration 5, Illustration 6, and Illustration 7. Navigate in Cat ET to the "Diagnostic Test Screen", and click "Override Parameters".

Click "Interaxle Lock Solenoid Current Override".

When the "Change Parameter Value" screen pops up, enter "1.1", and click "OK".

A screen will appear to verify that you want to override the value. Click "Yes".
When the screen appears with the new parameter, run the engine at high idle. Observe the pressures on gauge (1) and (2). The pressures should agree with the pressures listed above in "Specifications".

When the Interaxle differential lock pressure check is complete, repeat the steps above to return the "Current Override" to Zero.
Lower the engine speed to idle. Shut down the machine, and remove test equipment.
