Remove steps (1). Repeat for opposite side.

Remove plate assemblies (2). Repeat for the opposite side.

Disconnect harness assembly (4) from the rear bumper. Disconnect hose assemblies (5).Note: Do not attempt to pry or pull the tabs out of the connections on hose assembly (3) as damage will occur. Push down on the fitting and push the tabs inward before pulling up to disconnect hose assembly (3).
Disconnect hose assembly (3).

Disconnect harness assemblies (7). Remove frame assemblies (6) and all batteries.

Remove bolts (8). Repeat for opposite side.

Attach Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to rear bumper (9). The weight of rear bumper (9) is approximately 5897 kg (13000 lb). Attach Tooling (B) to rear bumper (9). The weight of rear bumper (9) is approximately 5897 kg (13000 lb).

Position Tooling (E) under the rear portion of rear bumper (10), as shown. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (E). Maintain a gap between the top of Tooling (E) of approximately 152 mm (6.0 inch). Remove bolts (21). Loosen bolts (20) by approximately 25 mm (1.0 inch).

Slowly lower rear bumper (10) to Tooling (E). Lowering rear bumper (10) will cause rear bumper (10) to pull off dowels (14). When rear bumper (10) sets on Tooling (E), Raise rear bumper (10) up again. Install suitable Wedges (X) at the front of rear bumper (10), as shown. Keep repeating this step until rear bumper (10) is free from dowels (14). Remove Tooling (E) and bolts (13)

Remove rear bumper (10) onto suitable cribbing.Installation Procedure
Install rear bumper (10) in the reverse order of removal.
