Contact with high pressure fuel may cause fluid penetration and burn hazards. High pressure fuel spray may cause a fire hazard. Failure to follow these inspection, maintenance and service instructions may cause personal injury or death.
Ensure that all adjustments and repairs that are carried out to the fuel system are performed by authorized personnel that have the correct training.Before beginning ANY work on the fuel system, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information and High Pressure Fuel Lines" for safety information. Refer to System Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Cleanliness of Fuel System Components" for detailed information on the standards of cleanliness that must be observed during ALL work on the fuel system.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.

Remove caps (3) from nuts (4) (not shown).
Remove nuts (4) (not shown) and washers (2) from cover (1).
Remove cover (1).
Remove bolt (6) from clamps (7). Remove the clamps from fuel injection lines (5).
Remove bolt (8) from clamps (9). Remove the clamps from fuel injection lines (5).
Remove fuel injection lines (1) from fuel manifold (10).
Use Tooling (A) to cap fuel manifold (10).
Remove seals (11) from cylinder head (12). Use Tooling (A) to cap electronic unit injectors.

Remove bolts (15) from clamps (16). Remove the clamps from fuel injection line (13).
Remove fuel injection line (13) from fuel manifold (10) and the fuel injection pump.
Use Tooling (A) to cap fuel manifold (10) and the fuel injection pump.
Loosen bolts (14) and self locking nuts for fuel manifold (10). Installation Procedure
The fuel injection lines are supplied as a set of fuel injection lines. The individual fuel injection lines will need to be assembled onto the fuel manifold, electronic unit injectors, and the fuel injection pump prior to the fuel injection lines are tightened. Note: The fuel injection lines are numbered and should be installed into the correct position.

Remove the caps from the electronic unit injector. Install new seals (11) to the electronic unit injector and cylinder head (12). Ensure that the flange on the seal is flush with the cylinder head.

Remove the caps from fuel manifold (10). Remove the caps from appropriate end of fuel injection lines (5).
Loosely install fuel injection lines (5) to fuel manifold (10) and the electronic unit injector. Ensure that the fuel injection lines are installed into the fuel rail in the correct numbered order.
Position clamps (7) onto fuel injection lines (5). Install bolt (6) to the clamps hand tight.
Position clamps (9) onto fuel injection lines (5). Install bolt
