Personal injury or death can result from high voltage.When power generation equipment must be in operation to make tests and/or adjustments, high voltage and current are present.Improper test equipment can fail and present a high voltage shock hazard to its user.Use electrical safety gloves when you are working in the cabinets.Make sure the testing equipment is designed for and correctly operated for high voltage and current tests being made.
Open both doors of the Static Switch Cabinet.
Test the Silicon Controlled Rectifiers in the Input/Output Cabinet in order to make sure that they have not been damaged. Refer to the following information: Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Silicon Controlled Rectifiers - Test".
Wait for the system to finish the boot process.
Apply utility power to the UPS/SMS or MMU.
The Graphical User Interface will have telemetry once the system has booted.
Unlock the left door of the Input/Output Cabinet.
Press the Reset pushbutton that is located on the left front cabinet frame of the Input/Output Cabinet.For the location of the reset button for the Breaker Bell Alarm Supervisor Board refer to the following information: Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Reset Pushbutton".
Lock the following cabinets: Static Switch Cabinet and Input/Output Cabinet.
Logon to the UPS/SMS or MMU via the Graphical User Interface on the Controls Cabinet door or UPS View.
Place the UPS/SMS or MMU in Bypass via the Graphical User Interface or UPS View.
Acknowledge the UPS/SMS or MMU errors via the Graphical User Interface on the Controls Cabinet door.
Place the UPS/SMS or MMU Online via the Graphical User Interface or UPS View.
