Configuration parameters are those parameters that affect engine power or various engine features. The configuration parameters are programmed at the factory. In most cases, the parameters do not need to be changed. The configuration parameters for the crank duration and the maximum number of cycles must be reprogrammed from the factory settings before the engine will start.The configuration parameters are programmed with the Cat® Electronic Technician (ET). Refer to Troubleshooting for additional information in order to program the configuration parameters. The amount of fuel that is consumed by the engine is based on a map of the engine speed and the amount of rack. This parameter can be changed by the customer.If a parameter is unavailable, the electronic service tool will indicate "unavailable" when the parameter is selected.
