Silicone Sealant     1    Note: 4C-9613 Silicone Sealant, 3S-6252 Sealant, or 185-3986 Sealant is required to fill mounting holes from the original OPS Certification Plate.Caterpillar is changing the Replacement Operator Protective Structure (OPS) Flim in order to match the current format of the production no-text OPS films. The OPS films can include previously used replacement ROPS, FOPS, and TOPS certification films. Films must be permanently attached to the protective structure according to worldwide regulations. If the original plate/film is damaged or if the plate/film is not legible, a replacement OPS film must be applied to the structure. Before installing the replacement film, the OPS must be inspected in order to verify the structural integrity. Special Instruction, REHS3166 containing inspection and installation instructions is provided in the Replacement OPS Film Kit. For detailed inspection and repair instructions, see Special Instruction, SEHS6929.During installation of the replacement OPS films, note that the replacement OPS film may have a different format from the original OPS Plate/Film. The replacement OPS film will consist of three films that contain the same mandatory information as the original OPS Plate/Film. These replacement films are made of a polycarbonate with a special coating in order to resist weathering and abrasion.

Operator Protective StructureThe Process for Ordering a Replacement OPS Certification Film
Dealers can use the following process to order a replacement OPS Certification Film.
Place an order by using the part number for the original OPS Certification Plate or OPS Certification Film.
The supplier creates a replacement OPS Certification Film by using the data from the original OPS Plate Part Number.
A kit that consists of the following will be shipped.

Three OPS Certification Films No weld/No drill, OPS Certification Film and Seat Belt Film.
Instructions for installation of the filmFor reference, the following images highlight the visual differences between the original OPS Certification Film and the replacement OPS Certification Films that will be provided. Both Caterpillar and supplier ROPS Certification Plates are included in the new process. The supplier ROPS Films will now be serviced by the original part number. The films will no longer be serviced by the 6V-2604 film group .Additional details for installation of the film and the OPS Structure Inspection Instructions can be found in Special Instruction, REHS3166. If the original OPS Certification Plate was installed by using mechanical fasteners, the fastener holes should be covered with Silicone Sealant in order to fill the now unused holes. The following sealants are recommended:
