Start By:a. remove tandem hydraulic pumps (CS-431B) 1. Place alignment mark on flywheel cover (1) and the flywheel housing (2) to ensure proper reassembly. 2. Remove twelve bolts (5) around the outer diameter of flywheel cover (1). It may be necessary to remove two bolts (3) and bracket (4) to gain access to several of the bolts.
Perform all prying from above or to the sides of the flywheel cover. Do not attempt to pry or remove the flywheel cover from under the machine.
3. Install two guide bolts of appropriate size, one in each side of the flywheel cover. This will prevent the flywheel cover from falling off the flywheel housing when the last bolt is removed.4. Remove the flywheel housing cover (1) from the flywheel housing (2). It may be necessary in some cases to pry the cover loose. Weight of the flywheel housing cover is 12 kg (30 lb).
To prevent possible personal injury, do not attempt to remove drive plate (6) from under the machine. Since there are no easy places to grasp the drive plate, it could fall.
From on top of the machine, insert two fingers into the center hub area of the drive plate (6) and pull out. If the drive plate does not separate from the flywheel in this manner, use tooling (A). Do not attempt to pry on the sides of the drive plate. It will bend and cause damage to the drive plate.
5. Remove eight bolts (7) from drive plate (6).6. Remove drive plate (6) from flywheel. Weight of the drive plate is 7kg (18 lb). The following are steps for installation of the pump drive.7. Thoroughly clean all internal parts of the pump drive prior to installation.8. Install the drive plate (6) onto the flywheel. The center hub of the drive plate will fit into the recess area in the center of the flywheel. If necessary, tap the center hub with a soft hammer until fully seated. Ensure that the holes in the diameter of the drive plate align with the threaded holes in the flywheel.9. Apply a thin coat of 9S3263 Thread Lock to eight bolts (7) and install bolts.10. Install two guide bolts of appropriate length which were used during removal into the flywheel housing.11. From on top of the machine, lower the the flywheel housing cover (1) into a position so that it can be slid onto the guide bolts. Ensure that the scribe marks placed on the flywheel housing cover (1) and the flywheel housing (2) align.12. Install twelve bolts (5) holding the flywheel housing cover to the flywheel housing. Remove the guide bolts and replace with original bolts when the cover is secure.13. Install two bolts (3) and bracket (4) to side of flywheel housing if they were removed.14.
