6. Disconnect three hydraulic lines (1). Cap or plug immediately. Remove two bolts (2). Remove the steering pump. The following steps are for the installation of the steering pump.7. Put the steering pump in position on the propel pump. Install two bolts (2). Connect three hydraulic lines (1).8. Use puller (A) to lower the cab into position. Fasten the cab in position with four cab mount bolts (24).9. Remove the hose used to drain the tank. Fill the tank to the correct operating level. The capacity of the hydraulic tank is 117.5 liters (31 gallons).10. Install panel (10).Disassemble & Assemble Steering Pump (Earlier)
Start By:a. remove steering pump1. Make sure pump is clean and free of debris. Mark orientation of pump components for later assembly. Before disassembly, scribe a line on the ring, cover and body to insure the proper relationship of parts as they are assembled. Refer to Diagnosing Hydraulic Pump Failures, Form No. SEBD0501, for further information on pump wear or damage characteristics. 2. Remove four bolts (1). Remove these bolts slowly and evenly, there is spring pressure under case halve (2).3. Remove case halve (2). A steering pump used between the earlier (vane type) and late (gear type) was a vane pump with an additional relief valve on the end case (2). The serial numbers of the steering pump with the extra relief valve were CS-563 (8XF194-Up) and CP-563 (5YJ54-Up). Refer to Service Magazine Article, "New Steering Pump Used; New Procedure For Checking Steering Pump And Priority Valve Relief Pressures" July 13, 1992. 4. Remove O-ring seal (3) from case halve (2). Check the O-ring for wear or damage. Replace if necessary. 5. Remove spring (4). Remove valve (5). Valve is setting on dowel pins. Mark for orientation. 6. If necessary, remove bushing (6) from valve (5). 7. Remove spacer (7). Spacer is doweled. 8. If necessary, remove two dowel pins (8).9. Remove O-ring seal (9). Check for wear or damage. Replace if necessary. 10. Remove rotor (10). 11. Remove twelve blades (11) from rotor (10). 12. Remove snap ring (12) from case halve (13) with Tool (A). 13. With a soft hammer, tap shaft assembly (14) out of case halve (13). 14. Remove snap ring (15) from shaft assembly (14) with Tool (B). 15. Remove bearing (16) from shaft (14). 16. If necessary, remove shaft seal (17) from case halve (13). The following steps are for the assembly of the steering pump. 17. If shaft seal (17) was removed, install the seal in case halve (13). 18. Heat bearing to 93.3°C (200°F). Install bearing (16) on shaft (14). 19. Use Tool (B) to install snap ring (15) onto shaft (14). 20. Use a soft hammer or if necessary, a press to install shaft assembly (14) into case halve (13). 21. Install snap ring (12) into case halve (13) with Tool (A). 22. Install twelve blades (11) into component (10). 23. Install rotor (10). 24. Install two dowel pins (8) if they were removed.25. Install O-ring
