Top Center of Screed Extenders (1) Extender height control motor (2) Extender height scaleThe AS2302C screed is equipped with an extender height control mechanism for each extender. The extender height control mechanism uses electric motor (1) to raise and lower the extender. Each extender height control motor is controlled by a switch on the corresponding screed operator station.The extenders can be lowered 64 6 mm (2.5 0.25 inch) below the main screed. And the extenders can be raised 25 6 mm (1 0.25 inch) above the main screed. Extender height scale (2) shows the amount of adjustment in 6 mm (0.25 inch) increments. At the initial setup, the extenders should be set 6 mm (0.25 inch) lower than the main screed.

Center of Main Screed (3) Left extender slope cylinder (4) Right extender slope cylinderThe extender slope cylinders are mounted on the main screed, near the center. Left extender slope cylinder (3) controls the slope of the left screed extender. Right extender slope cylinder (4) controls the slope of the right screed extender.The slope cylinders are controlled by valves on the extend and slope manifold. Switches on the screed operator stations control the slope valves. The left slope is controlled by a switch on the left screed operator station. The right slope is controlled by a switch on the right screed operator station.Each slope cylinder has a shutoff valve on the side of the cylinder. When the shutoff valve is closed, the position of the cylinder is locked and the slope control switches on the operator stations cannot change the slope angle. The shutoff valve can also control the speed of the cylinder. When the valve is partially closed, the motion of the cylinder is slower. If the cylinder reacts too quickly, the height of the screed extender may be affected.

Slope scales indicate the percent of slope. Right extender slope scale (5) is shown in Illustration 3.Note: Use the extender slope scale as a reference only. Measure the mat in order to determine the actual slope of the extender.
