Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the hydraulic oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Oil Cooler - Remove and Install".
Remove the refrigerant condenser. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Refrigerant Condenser - Remove and Install".
Remove the transmission oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission Oil Cooler - Remove".
Remove the fan group. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Group (Includes Fan, Fan Guard, Fan Shroud, and Hydraulic Fan Motor - Remove".
Remove the radiator top tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator Top Tank - Remove and Install".
Remove the radiator cores. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator Core - Remove and Install".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Remove two bolts (1) and the washers.
Remove three bolts (2) and the washers.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the opposite side.
Carefully remove bottom radiator tank (3) .Installation Procedure

Install three bolts (2) and the washers.
Install two bolts (1) and the washers.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the opposite side.End By:
Install the radiator cores. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator Core - Remove and Install".
Install the radiator top tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator Top Tank - Remove and Install".
Install the fan group. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Group (Includes Fan, Fan Guard, Fan Shroud, and Hydraulic Fan Motor) - Install".
Install the transmission oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tansmission Oil Cooler - Install".
Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Install the refrigerant condenser. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Refrigerant Condenser - Remove and Install".
Install the hydraulic oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Oil Cooler - Remove and Install".
