View From Under Machine2. Remove the four bolts and cover (1) from below the fuel tank. 3. Disconnect hose (2) from the bottom of the fuel tank. Remove the four bolts that hold the fuel tank to the frame of the machine. 4. Remove the four bolts that hold the hand rail to the machine. Remove hand rail (3). 5. Disconnect hose (4) from the fuel tank.6. Put identification marks on the two wires of harness (5). Disconnect harness (5) from the fuel gauge sending unit.
Do not damage the drain valve located on the bottom of the fuel tank when it is being removed from the machine.
7. Position the forks of a lift truck next to the fuel tank as shown. Use two persons to slide fuel tank (6) on to the forks of the lift truck. The empty weight of the fuel tank is 84 kg (185 lb). During removal, do not damage the drain valve located on the bottom of the fuel tank.8. Put identification marks on the shims located under the fuel tank as to their location. Remove the shims from the frame supports. The following steps are for the installation of the fuel tank.9. Install the shims for the fuel tank in their original positions on the frame supports.
Do not damage the drain valve located on the bottom of the fuel tank when it is being installed on the machine.
10. Use two persons to slide fuel tank (6) into position on the machine. Install the four bolts that hold the fuel tank to the frame of the machine. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 251 30 N m (186 22 lb ft).11. Connect hose (2) to the bottom of the fuel tank. Tighten the clamp to a torque of 0.6 .05 N m (5 50 lb in).12. Reinstall cover (1) under the fuel tank.13. Connect wire harness (5) to the fuel gauge sending unit. Be sure the wires are reinstalled in their original locations.14. Connect hose (4) to the fuel tank.15. Reinstall hand rail (3).16. Fill the fuel tank with fuel. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.
