1. Start by disconnecting the batteries.2. Remove the gauge panel.3. Remove the 8W-4257 Panel from the trailing unit control. Modify the 8W-4257 Panel to the dimensions in Illustration 1.

Disconnect the wiring connector from the cushion hitch switch and bail (if equipped) switch (save switch for later use).6. Cut off the connectors and 101.6 mm (4 in) of the harness (save for later use) that plug onto the cushion hitch switch and bail switch. 7. Cut a 25.4 mm (1.00 in) diameter hole in the compartment assembly. See Illustration 2 for the location of the hole.

Install the cushion hitch switch and the bail switch in the newly fabricated plate.11. Route jumper wires through the gauge area, shift console, using 210 cm (83 in) long wire the proper color for each wire cut.12. Install grommet (3) in the hole (previously drilled) to protect the wires.13. Connect the jumper wires to the cut harness in the front dash with splice (9), mating the proper color codes.14. Connect the wires from the connector to the harness with splice (9), using the color code and circuit numbers. 15. Check all wires for continuity.16. Install the dash, gauge panel, shift console and rear panel.17. Connect the harness connectors to the appropriate switches. Attach the fabricated plate to the plastic cover (See Illustration 5).18. Install plug (2) in the extra hole, if the machine is not equipped with a bail. Install plugs (2) in the holes in the dash panel.19. Attach film (1) to the switch mounting plate in line with the bowl lever.20. Connect the batteries.
