Start By:a. remove track carrier rollers (front) 1. Move the machine to a level hard surface.
The machine must be on a level, hard surface before the undercarriage is removed.
2. Put boom, stick and bucket as close into the machine as possible.3. Release oil pressure in the main system.4. Put beam assembly from tooling (A) in position on the stands. Measure the distance from the top of the beam assembly to the ground. Measure the distance from the bottom of the upper frame to the ground. Move the machine up on wood blocks as needed to get clearance for tooling (A).5. Put tooling (A) and (B) in position under the upper frame. Pads (1) were welded on the beam assembly in tooling (B) so the boom cylinder bosses can have a flat surface to be against. Make reference to FT1134 drawing for detailed dimensions on pads (1).6. Remove the hydraulic tank cap to release pressure in the hydraulic system. 7. Disconnect oil lines (2) and (3) from the swing motor. 8. Disconnect parking brake oil lines (4) and (5).9. Disconnect track motor return lines (6) and (7). 10. Disconnect track motor lines (8), (9), (10) and (11) from the swivel rotor. 11. Remove the two bolts that hold bracket (12) in place. Remove the bracket. 12. Remove plug (13) from the cover. Remove bolt (14) and washer from the final drive. Put bolt (14) and washer in place of plug (13). Tighten the bolt. This will release the final drive. Do the same procedure for the other final drive. 13. Disconnect grease line (15) from the swing bearing. Remove pipe nipple (16) from the swing bearing. 14. Remove thirty-six bolts (17) and washers that hold the upper frame to the swing gear.
Put a good amount of oil under the bucket pins to keep the stick and boom movement in as the upper frame is lifted.
15. Slowly lift the upper frame with tooling (A) and (B) until the undercarriage will clear the swivel group fittings (18).16. Fasten a chain to the tow bracket on the undercarriage (19). Use an acceptable machine to pull the undercarriage clear of the upper frame. Add wooden blocks (20) [cribbing] as necessary under undercarriage as it is pulled from under the upper frame.
If work is to be done under the upper frame structure, put wooden blocks (cribbing) under upper frame for additional support and to prevent a possible accident if the machine falls. Serious personal injury or death can be the result if the machine falls.
Install Undercarriage
1. Install two 5/8"-11 NC guide pins (1) in the upper frame.2. Move the undercarriage (3) into position under the upper frame. Make sure the guide pins are in correct alignment with the holes in the swing bearing.
The upper frame must be kept in a level position at all times during installation of the undercarriage.
3. Slowly lower the upper frame on the undercarriage with tooling (A) and (B).
Make sure the boom cylinder bosses make constant contact with the pads
