Before servicing/performing maintenance on the machine, electrical power must be physically disconnected; battery plugs must be disconnected from the batteries, or the trailing cable must be unplugged, and warning tags and padlocks shall be applied by a certified electrician. Certified electricians shall perform or direct any electrical work, including any energized testing, repair work in controllers, motors, or other approved compartments, and shall insure that all compartments are properly closed and inspected prior to re-energization. All applicable lock out and tag out procedures must be followed.
Do not operate the machine if any guards or covers are missing or inadequately secured. Personnel could be seriously injured or machine damage may occur.
Observe the safe working load limits of all lifting and blocking devices and keep a safe distance from suspended/blocked loads. Personnel may be seriously injured or killed by falling loads.

Lower the broom on the ground and tilt forward to remove tension in the chains.
Remove and discard the spring, two chains, and two quick links from the broom.

Coupler frame
(A) 10.9 0.5 mm (0.43 0.02 inch)
(B) Chain holder slot
Grind the full length of the chain holder slot (B) on the coupler frame to make the slot (B) width as per dimension (A). Refer to Illustration 2.

Remove and discard the pin and cotter pin that are packaged with shackle (2). Refer to Illustration 3.

Attach shackle (2) to the upper hole on the back of the brush frame using bolt (3) and locknut (4). Refer to Illustration 4.Note: Tighten locknut (4) until the locknut (4) contacts shackle (2).
Secure chain link (6) of chain assembly (9) to the lower hole on the back of the brush frame. Refer to Illustration 4
Slide chain assembly (10) in the chain holder slot (B). Refer to Illustration 4.
Adjust the chain assembly (10) to the proper tension level.Note: Refer to Adjusting Upper Spring-Chain AssemblyOperation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU9264, "BA118C Angle Broom" for adjusting the chain assembly (10).
