Description of Change: A kit is now available for the remote mounted panel that is used on the above engines that have Air Fuel Ratio Control (AFRC). The kit consists of a capacitor, diodes, and other related parts. Without the kit, a voltage drop may occur when you connect the service tool. The 183-6769 Capacitor is shipped in a discharged state. Do no apply voltage to the capacitor until the installation procedure is complete. The capacitor must be discharged before performing any service on the capacitor circuit. To discharge the capacitor, disconnect the positive battery from Diode 1 (D1). Allow the 6V-6148 Engine Monitoring Control Gp to discharge the capacitor.
Disconnect all of the positive battery cables at the panel at the location of the new parts.Note: The capacitor must be mounted in a vertical position. Do not mount the capacitor in a panel that is located on the engine. The capacitor must be free from vibration.
By using 172-4391 Mounting Clamp, 7K-3436 Lock Screws , and 4B-2043 Nuts, install the 183-6769 Capacitor on the floor panel.

Refer to Illustration 1 and Illustration 2. Assemble the wire connections to the diodes. Install the wire terminals under
