--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: There has been a change in the Electronics Software Group in 3508B D11R Track-Type Tractors. The new software and control groups differ from the former groups in a few ways. * The hydraulic fan pump's minimum pressure has changed from 2600 kPa to 3800 kPa (for the Carrydozer only).* The fan pump strategy changed so that it will not go to minimum fan pump pressure when the engine is lugging. This will increase the cooling capacity during lug.* The cold cylinder cut out strategy changes to deactivated for 10 minutes when the engine speed drops 100 rpm below the low idle due to parasitic losses.* An Electronic Filter was added to the crankcase pressure sensor to eliminate nuisance faults.* The coolant flow strategy changed to 10 seconds to eliminate nuisance faults.* Overspeed retarder solenoid diagnostics were added.Adaptable To: The 149-8181 Electronics Software Group has been canceled and replaced by the new 161-8000 Electronics Software Group. The 149-8183 Control Group has also been canceled and replaced by the new 161-8003 Control Group. Those equipped with Electronic Technician (ET) can make this software update by flashing the ECM with the new 161-8000 Electronic Software Group. Those not equipped with ET can make this update by installing the new 161-8003 Control Group into the engine's ECM.
This change is effective with the D11R (9TR197-Up) Track-Type Tractor and the 3508B (2GR567-Up, 5XS171-Up) Engines.
