VALVE GP-RELIEF 1790124 - Caterpillar

Attach tooling (F) onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose onto the assembly. Apply 276 kPa to 414 kPa (40 psi to 60 psi). This procedure will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system.

Pilot pump (typical example)
(1) Tee
(2) Outlet hose to pilot oil filter
(3) Pilot pump
Disconnect outlet hose (2) from tee (1).
Install tooling (G) in accordance with the flow meter tool layout in Illustration 1.
Install adapter (G5) with o-ring seal (G6) onto elbow (G7).
Install flow meter (G4) onto adapter (G5).
Install union (G3) onto flow meter (G4)
Insert elbow (G1) into union (G3).
Install o-ring seal (G2) onto elbow (G1).
Once all components of tooling (G) have been assembled, connect elbow (G7) to tee (1).
Reconnect outlet hose (2) that was removed in Step 14 onto elbow (G1).
Remove tooling (F) and install the filler plug for the hydraulic tank.Test Procedure
Start the engine.

Set the engine speed dial at "1".
Lower the left console.

Power mode control button on the soft panel switch
Push down on the power mode control button to activate power mode.Note: The indicator light will be illuminated when power mode is activated.

Automatic Engine Speed Control (AESC) as displayed on the programmable function key in the monitor.
Disable the automatic engine speed control through the monitor by pressing the programmable button.

Hydraulic modulation aggressive mode (monitor display)
Select the hydraulic modulation mode as aggressive. Press the lower front switch on the left joystick to select the hydraulic modulation mode.
Ensure that the air conditioning is turned off for the following test.
Stall a circuit of the medium pressure system in a closed or open position and hold.
Verify the flow of the pilot pump at flow meter (G4).
Verify the engine speed in the machine monitor.

Press the "Menu" key to display the main menu options.

Use the arrows to select "Service" mode from the "Main Menu". Press the "OK" key.
Input the password "FFF2". Press the "Enter" key.Note: The soft switch key pad can be used to enter the desired numbers.

Release the circuit of the medium pressure system.
