Remove the equalizer bar pads.
When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Do not use threaded rods that have not been hardened as tooling with hydraulic cylinders. The maximum rated tonnage should be stamped on one end of the puller studs. Do not use threaded rods that have not been stamped with the rated tonnage.

Position Tooling (A) as shown in Illustration 1. Raise the front of the machine. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A).

Remove bolts (1) from pivot shaft seal (2).

Remove bolts (3), bolt (4), and plate (5) from equalizer bar (6) on the left side.

Install Tooling (B) between equalizer bar (6) and track roller frame (7). The wedges restrict movement when the pin is removed. Note: The equalizer bar end pin can only be removed from the front of the machine.

Use Tooling (C) to remove end pin (8) from equalizer bar (6).
Repeat Step 2 through Step 5 on the other side.

Attach Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to equalizer bar (6). The weight of the equalizer bar varies from 190 kg (420 lb) on the standard machine to 375 kg (825 lb) on the LGP machine.

Remove bolts (9), bolt (10), and plate (11) from the center pin of equalizer bar (6).

Use Tooling (E) to remove center pin (12).

Use Tooling (A) to raise the machine. Use Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to raise one side of equalizer bar (6). Note: The machine must be raised to remove the equalizer bar.
Remove equalizer bar (6) from the machine. Spacers (13) will fall to the ground when equalizer bar (6) is removed.
