Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Inspect the O-ring seals, the seals, and the gaskets. Replace the O-ring seals, the seals, and the gaskets that are worn or damaged.Note: Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install dampers (19) into oil pump body (15).Note: Countersink dampers (19) to a depth of 7.5 0.5 mm (0.3 0.02 inch).Note: The joint of sleeve bearings (18) should be located 15° to 30° from the centerline of oil pump body (15).
Use Tooling (A) in order to install sleeve bearings (18) into oil pump body (15).Note: Countersink sleeve bearings (18) to a depth of 1.5 .25 mm (0.06 0.001 inch).

Install pump gear assembly (10) and pump gear assembly (11) into oil pump body (15).

Install woodruff key (12) (not shown) into pump gear assembly (10).
Align the slot on gear (17) with woodruff key (12) (not shown). Install gear (17) onto pump gear assembly (10).
Install gear (17) onto pump gear assembly (11).
Install dowels (14) into oil pump body (16).Note: Dowels (14) should protrude from oil pump body (16) by 0.19 mm (0.0075 inch).
Install oil pump body (16) and the O-ring seal onto oil pump body (15).

Install oil pump cover (4) and the O-ring seal onto oil pump body (16), as shown.

Install dowels (14) into oil pump body (5).Note: Dowels (14) should protrude from oil pump body (16) by 0.19 mm (0.0075 inch).
Install oil pump body (5) and the O-ring seal onto oil pump body (15).

Install woodruff key (12) into pump gear assembly (10).
Align the slot on gear (13) with woodruff key (12) (not shown). Install gear (13) onto pump gear assembly (10).
Install gear (13) onto pump gear assembly (11).

Use Tooling (A) to install sleeve bearings (9) into oil pump cover (7).Note: Countersink sleeve bearings (9) to a depth of 1.5 .25 mm (0.06 0.001 inch).

Use bolts (6) to position oil pump cover (7). Install bolts (8) to install oil pump cover (7) to oil pump body (5).

Install plate (3) and the O-ring seal to oil pump cover (4). Install bolts (2).
Before the gear pump is tested, lubricate the gear pump with oil. The gear pump should be able to be rotated with hand pressure.End By:
Install the gear pump (torque converter and parking brake release). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Torque Converter and Parking Brake Release) - Install".
