Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
1. Drain coolant and remove 3/8" NPT plug shown and install the 3E-7448 Connector, 6V-9027 O-ring seal, and new 218-3840 Pressure Sensor at the location shown in Image1.1.1.
Image1.1.1
2. Install provided jumper harness (353-4498) from sensor to ECM. Use straps (3S-2093 and 9X-6772) to loosely secure it to the existing wiring harness. The jumper harness will route from the ECM around the front of the engine to the new sensor port location.
The path highlighted in Image1.2.1, Image1.2.2, Image1.2.3 is recommended for routing the jumper harness.
Secure the hareness with straps when the routing is finished.

3. Remove the existing coolant flow switch and install the 205-4821 Cover, 4N-3841 Gasket, 0S-1617 Bolts, and 9M-1974 Washers in its place at location shown in Image1.3.1. Use the 3E-3364 Receptacle and 3E-3365 Wedge, from 102-8802 Receptacle Kit, and the two 8T-8737 Seal Plugs in order to cap the harness plug that was attached to the coolant flow switch. Securely tie strap the capped off coolant flow switch breakout to the main body of the engine wiring harness.
Remove wire C463-GY from A-C2-3 of the engine ECM connector. Firmly secure this wire to the harness trunk with electrical tape making sure that no metal or copper is exposed. Note: This is the signal wire for the front aftercooler temperature sensor. It is no longer used with this update.
Disconnect the engine harness from the front aftercooler temperature sensor. Use the 3E-3370 receptacle and three 8T-8737 seal plugs to cap the engine wiring harness that was attached to the sensor. Firmly secure this portion of the engine wiring harness with 3S-2093 and 9X-6772 cable straps. Note: Removing the front aftercooler temperature sensor is optional. The existing front aftercooler temperature sensor can remain on the engine.

4. Shown below is a diagram for the wiring and installation of the jumper harness.
You will need to move some wires from the engine harness ECM connectors, and plug them into the jumper harness.
5. Fill the cooling system to the proper level.

6. Verify the engine software part number. Update engine software. Using Caterpillar ET 2011A or newer, flash the engine ECM with the 301-8390 Software GP. No washing of the ECM is necessary.
It is not necessary to update the engine software if it has been previously updated to 375-2382 Software or newer.
7. Once the software is installed, activate the coolant pressure sensing feature in the configuration screen in Cat ET. In the configuration screen of ET under Engine Configuration Parameters make sure that the coolant pressure sensor is "Installed".
8. Update the software on the VIMS module to 357-2893 Software from SISWeb.
Note: Both engine ECM and VIMS software is required for engine protection and annunciation of low coolant pressure alarms. Failure to update both software flash files could result in severe engine damage.
9. Cycle ECM power OFF for 60 seconds and ON.
10. Start engine and ensure that the coolant pressure sensor is visible in the ET status screen
