Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure.Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.Before installation or removal of any hydraulic test equipment, relieve the pressure in the hydraulic tank by slowly loosening the filler cap.
Note: Mark all hoses, lines, and tubes for identification purposes. Plug all hoses, lines, and tubes in order to prevent foreign material from entering the system.Note: Drain all fluids in a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Lower the implements to the ground. Relieve system pressure at the hydraulic oil tank. Move the bulldozer control lever to the float position.
Remove bolts (1) and guard assembly (2) .

Remove hydraulic hose assemblies (3) from the angle cylinder.

Attach a lifting device to the angle cylinder, as shown.
Remove retainers and pins (4) from each angle cylinder. Remove the angle cylinder. The weight of the angle cylinder is 45 kg (100.0 lb).
