To avoid damage to the braking system, do not exceed 4150 kPa (602 psi) when applying pressure to release the parking brake.
Use Tooling (A) in order to release brake assembly (1) . Use a suitable bar in order to rotate wheel assembly (2) until magnetic plug (5) is directly below the centerline of the wheel. Remove Tooling (A) .
Position a suitable container under wheel assembly (2) in order to contain hydraulic oil for storage or disposal.
Remove magnetic plug (5) and the O-ring seal from wheel assembly (2) . Wheel assembly (2) contains 60.67 L (16 US gal).Note: Check the O-ring seal on magnetic plug (5) for wear or damage. Replace magnetic plug (5) , if necessary. Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
After the hydraulic oil has been drained, install magnetic plug (5) and the O-ring seal onto wheel assembly (2) in order to prevent contamination.
Remove 12 bolts (3) and the hard washers. Remove cover (4) and the O-ring seal from wheel assembly (2) .

Install Tooling (B) to wheel assembly (2) . Attach Tooling (B) to a suitable lifting device and a hoist in order to support wheel assembly (2) .

Remove ten bolts (7) and washers from retainer (6) .
Use two people to remove retainer (6) . The weight of retainer (6) is 37 kg (82 lb).
Remove shim pack (8) .

Use Tooling (B) and the hoist to remove wheel assembly (2) and roller bearing cone (9) from front axle assembly (10) . The weight of wheel assembly (2) and roller bearing cone (9) is 1119 kg (2467 lb).
Remove roller bearing cone (9) from wheel assembly (2) . The weight of roller bearing cone (9) is 51 kg (112 lb).
Position wheel assembly (2) onto a suitable work surface.
Remove Tooling (B) from wheel assembly (2) .

Remove roller bearing cup (11) from wheel assembly (2) .

Turn wheel assembly (2) onto the other side.
Remove Duo-Cone seal (12) from wheel assembly (2) .
Remove Duo-Cone seal (13) from wheel assembly (2) .

Remove roller bearing cup (14) from wheel assembly (2) .

Remove Duo-Cone seal (15) from brake assembly (1) .
Remove roller bearing cone (16) from front axle assembly (10) . The weight of roller bearing cone (16) is 51 kg (112 lb).
Use a suitable lifting device (not shown) and a hoist in order to remove retainer (17) from front axle assembly (10) . Position retainer (17) onto a suitable work bench. The weight of retainer (17) is 47.15 kg (104 lb).
