Information:
The clearance between spacer (2) to pin (5) plus coil springs (4) maintains the maximum separation between barrel (1) to port plate (3). This maximum separation limits the leakage during start-up and downhill operation.The adjustment procedure determines the correct size of spacer in order to get distance (B). The correct clearance for dimension (B) is 0.325 0.075 mm (.0127 .003 inch).

Use a piece of wire (20) to guide spacer (3) (minimum thickness) into center pin cylinder (21) of barrel (2). Place center pin in cylinder (21) without coil springs (5).
To avoid damage to center pin (4) and support (19) in the next step, place measuring kit cylinder (24) over the support and lay the cylinder on its side (horizontal).

In this case, remove the spacer with the minimum thickness and replace this spacer with a spacer that increases the indicator reading by 0.10 mm (.004 inch). This gives a final dimension (B) of -0.40 mm (-.016 inch).Once the correct spacer has been selected, center pin (4) can be removed. Use a piece of wire (20) as a guide to insert six compression springs (5). The orientation of the six compression springs is important. Refer to illustration 1 at the beginning of this procedure for the proper orientation of the spring.
