Component Codes 1354, 1377SUBJECT: Sealing for the Coolant Level Sight Gauge
PROBLEM:
The improved sealing for the coolant level sight gauge that is described in service magazine SEPD0608 (December 10, 2001) does not work. Both the former and the new arrangements may leak.
SOLUTION:
Until a permanent solution is available, it is recommended that the coolant level sight gauge be removed if the leak is bad. Close the open ports with 2Y-6461 Plugs and 2Y-5842 Gaskets. The coolant level will then need to be checked through the filler cap. This is a containment action until a permanent solution is available.
