Which Generate This Code:This diagnostic code is associated with the Transmission Solenoid 2. The FMI 13 means that the ECM has determined that the solenoid valve needs calibration. Once the calibration for the Transmission Solenoid 2 has been performed successfully, this diagnostic code will disappear. This failure is active on a new ECM.Possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
The solenoid has failed.
The ECM has been replaced or new software has been installed.

Shifting may be harsh or sluggish.Note: Ensure that you have repaired any condition that would cause other active diagnostic codes that are related to this solenoid. For example, the CID 1402 FMI 03 or FMI 05 are not active when the CID 1402 FMI 13 is active. If the other diagnostic codes are active, troubleshoot those codes first. Then perform this procedure.Note: Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 1402 FMI 13 is active before performing this procedure.Test Step 1. CHECK THE CALIBRATION
Perform the calibration procedure. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Fill Time for the Transmission Clutch (Electronic Technician) - Calibrate" for the correct procedure.The following machine conditions are required for the calibration procedure to begin:
Transmission filter is NOT being bypassed
Transmission oil temp is greater than 40 °C (104 °F) for the engagement pressure calibration. Transmission oil temp is greater than 58 °C (136 °F) for the fill time calibration.
Engine speed is greater than 1800 RPM
Parking Brake is engaged
Gear selector is in neutral
Transmission output speed is 0 RPM
Observe the status of the CID 1402 FMI 13.Expected Result:The CID 1402 FMI 13 is not active.Results:
OK - The CID 1402 FMI 13 is not active. The problem does not exist at this time. The initial diagnostic code may have been caused by a poor electrical connection or a short at one of the harness connectors that was disconnected and reconnected.Repair: Resume normal machine operation.STOP
NOT OK - The CID 1402 FMI 13 is active. The problem has not been corrected. The ECM may have failed.Repair: It is unlikely that the ECM has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, replace the ECM.
