In the machines that are listed above, the following issues have been identified when Caterpillar Electronic Technician 2008B and earlier versions connect to a machine that is using 333-0356 Machine Software Gp version 00 and later versions:
A message will appear to indicate that an exact match for the software could not be found.
An ECM replacement file could cause a problem during the configuration of the machine.Solution
Use Caterpillar Electronic Technician 2008B until Caterpillar Electronic Technician 2008C is released. Caterpillar Electronic Technician 2008B contains all of the screens that are necessary for the technician to resolve issues in the field.

Information messageThe information message in Illustration 1 will appear to warn the technician that an exact match for the software could not be found. This message can be ignored. Select "OK" in order to proceed to the standard screen that supports the Backhoe Loader.Note: The information message will not appear in Caterpillar Electronic Technician 2008C and later versions.

Exploded view of "ECM Replacement" screen (1) "Product ID" fieldAn ECM replacement file that contains a "Product ID" (1) (serial number) should not be used to program other machines that have 333-3056 and later versions of the machine control software. An ECM replacement file that contains a "Product ID" can be used to program the same machine if the ECM replacement file was generated from that machine.
