Connect a 6000 kPa (870 psi) pressure gauge to pressure tap (26) .
Start the engine.
Place the machine controls at the following settings:, engine speed dial in the HIGH IDLE position and One touch low idle control OFF. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Performance Test" for engine rpm settings.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° 5°C (131° 9°F).
Check the pilot relief valve setting at pressure tap (26) .
The pilot relief valve setting should be 3450 kPa to 3740 kPa (500 psi to 540 psi). If the pilot relief valve setting is not within the specification, adjust the pilot relief valve.
In order to adjust the pilot relief valve, loosen locknut (27) .
Turn setscrew (28) until the pressure gauge reading at pressure tap (26) is 3450 kPa to 3740 kPa (500 psi to 540 psi).Note: Turning setscrew (28) clockwise increases the pressure. Turning setscrew (28) counterclockwise decreases the pressure.Note: Always make final pressure adjustments on pressure rise.
Tighten locknut (27) to a torque of 16 1 N m (12 1 lb ft).Note: Normal operation of the engine and pumps are necessary for the pressure adjustment. If the results of the pressure adjustments are not correct, then the engine and the pump characteristic curve needs to be checked.
