Travel Operation
Note: Always adjust the travel operation of the main relief valve before adjustments are made to the implement operation of the main relief valve. An adjustment to the travel operation of the main relief valve will change the pressure setting of the implement operation of the main relief valve.
Position the machine on level ground and stop the engine.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing And Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".

Attach a 60000 kPa (8700 psi) pressure gauge to pressure tap (2) .

(20) Sprocket (21) Stopper
Place stopper (21) in sprocket (20) in order to block forward left travel.
Start the engine.
Place the machine controls at the following settings: slow mode switch OFF, engine speed dial in the HIGH IDLE position and One touch low idle control OFF. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Performance Test" for engine rpm settings.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° 5°C (131° 9°F).
Slowly move the left travel control lever to full FORWARD position and check the pressure gauge reading at pressure tap (2) .
Return the control lever to the NEUTRAL position.
The main relief valve pressure setting for the travel operation should be 31400 490 kPa (4550 72 psi). If the main relief valve pressure setting is not within the specification, adjust the main relief valve.

In order to adjust the main relief valve for the travel operation, loosen locknut (7) and turn adjuster (6) until the pressure gauge reading at pressure tap (2) is 31400 490 kPa (4550 72 psi).Note: Turning plug (6) clockwise increases the pressure. Turning plug (6) counterclockwise decreases the pressure.
Tighten locknut (7) to a torque of 29 2 N m (21 1 lb ft).Note: Always make final pressure adjustments on pressure rise.Implement Operation
