(1) Tonne Kilometer/hour = .682 Ton Mile/hour.
(2) Ton Mile/hour = 1.46 Tonne Kilometer/hourNote: If the truck is not equipped with a tire listed in Table 4, contact your tire supplier to get the TKPH/TMPH information for that tire.TKPH/TMPH Configuration Procedure
Verify that the Tire Analysis System is installed and enabled.
Verify Body style on truck and enter Empty Machine weight (Table 3).
Verify appropriate Target Payload (Table 2).
Verify axle weight distribution (Table 1).
Determine tires installed on truck (Table 4).
Find the corresponding TKPH/TMPH values for the tires (Table 4).
Calculate the Machine Speed Limit activation and deactivation threshold values:
Activation = TKPH/TMPH value
Deactivation = Activation - 10%
Enter appropriate TKPH/TMPH activation and deactivation values.
Set TKPH/TMPH speed limit (9 mph factory default).System Operation
When activated, the system will operate automatically and will not require any operator intervention. The TKPH/TMPH Monitoring in VIMS is based on the standard TKPH/TMPH calculations that are found in specific tire manufacturer technical tire data books. VIMS modified the algorithms in the following ways.
The payload weight data and the distance traveled data are recorded once per minute as part of the “Machine Weight-Speed Averaging Duration”. The database can be adjusted from one to 8 hours. Only the machine movements for the time base of the trucks operation (one to 8 hours) are used to calculate the real-time TKPH/TMPH. The payload and distance traveled data is then averaged for the time base and used to calculate the real-time TKPH/TMPH value.
For each minute the machine is keyed off, a value of zero is inserted into the distance traveled database and for the payload weight.
TKPH/TMPH makes adjustments for the time the machine is traveling loaded or traveling empty. When the machine is traveling empty, the front and the rear axles bear equal amounts of the machine weight. However, generally the front tires will have the higher TKPH/TMPH values generated while traveling empty. When the machine is loaded, one third of the weight will be on the front axle. This weight distribution results in a closer alignment of the front and rear TKPH/TMPH values.
VIMS monitors the Machine Real-Time TKPH.
VIMS compares Machine Real-Time TKPH to the “Machine Speed Limit Activation Front Tires Weight-Speed Threshold” and “Machine Speed Limit Activation Rear Tires Weight-Speed Threshold”.
When “Machine Speed Limit Activation Front Tires Weight-Speed Threshold” or “Machine Speed Limit Activation Rear Tires Weight-Speed Threshold” is exceeded, a TKPH event occurs.A TKPH event will
