Information:

Be sure no one is working on or near the machine to prevent injury. Keep the machine under control at all times to prevent injury.Reduce engine speed when maneuvering in tight quarters or when breaking over a rise.Select the gear speed necessary before starting downgrade. Do not change gears while going downhill.A good practice is to use the same gear speed going downgrade that would be used to go up the grade.Do not allow the engine to overspeed downhill. Use the service brake pedal to reduce engine overspeed going downhill. When the load is pushing the machine, put the transmission control lever in FIRST speed before starting downhill.1. Adjust the operator's seat.2. Fasten the seat belt.3. Raise all attachments enough to clear any obstructions. 4. Push down on service brake pedal (1) to keep the machine from moving.5. Push up parking brake lever (2) and push down brake pedal (1) to disengage. 6. Pull the lock lever up to unlock the transmission control lever. 7. Push the transmission control lever to the desired speed and direction.8. Release the brake pedals.9. Move the governor control lever to the desired engine speed.Direction and Speed Changing
For operator comfort and maximum service life of power train components, deceleration and/or braking is recommended before any directional shifts are made.
1. Decrease the engine speed by pushing the governor control in, or by pushing the decelerator pedal down. 2. Push the service brake pedal down to stop the machine. 3. Move the transmission control lever to NEUTRAL. Then move the lever to the desired direction.4. Move the transmission control lever to the desired speed.5. Release the service brake pedal.6. Increase the engine speed by releasing the decelerator pedal, or pulling back on the governor control lever.
To avoid early brake wear or damage, do not use service brake pedals as foot rests.
Normal Steering
Pedal Steer Machines
To make a gradual right turn, push down right steering clutch/brake pedal (1) until a slight pressure is felt. This releases the right steering clutch. To make a sharp right turn, push down completely on right steering clutch/brake pedal (1). This applies the right brake. To make a gradual left turn, push down left steering clutch/brake pedal (2) until a slight pressure is felt. This releases the left steering clutch. To make a sharp left turn, push down completely on left steering clutch/brake pedal (2). This applies the left brake.Hand Control Operated Machines
To make a gradual right turn, pull back right steering clutch/brake lever (3) until a slight pressure is felt. This releases the right steering clutch. To make a sharp right turn, pull back right steering clutch/brake lever (3) completely. This applies the right brake. To make a gradual left turn, pull back left steering clutch/brake lever (4) until a slight pressure is felt. This releases the left steering clutch. To make a sharp left turn, pull back left steering clutch/brake lever (4) completely. This applies the left brake.Steering on a Steep Downgrade
Cross steering is the term used to describe turning gradually
