In order to change the location of the detent, remove pipe plug (1) on the front of the gearbox. Use an Allen Wrench to rotate screw (2) that is located behind pipe plug (1) .
A Pulse Width Modulation sensor is used for the steering. The sensor data can be displayed as a percentage of the duty cycle on the main display module of the dash. In order to adjust the location of the detent, the duty cycle value of the sensor must be 25.8 1.0 percent greater than the value when the lever is fully released. For example, if the lever is released and the value is 12%, the detent should be between 36.8% and 38.8%.
The information for calibrating the sensors can be found in different places for different machines. Your machine will use one of the following methods:
Use a 4C-8195 Control Service Tool in order to obtain the above information. Press the mode switch. Hold the mode switch until "COMPONENT DATA DISPLAY MODE" appears. Then scroll to "CID676" for the left track steering lever position sensor or "CID677" for the right track steering lever position sensor.
Use Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).
Pull up the information on the advisor.
Calibrate the Forward/Neutral/Reverse switch.
