Check the condition of the O-ring seals. If the O-ring seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement.

(D) Bolt holes Note: Install flange (13) with Alignment Pin (C) between the Bolt Holes (D).
Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease on the outside machined surface of flange (13).
Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease in the bore of flange (13).
Use a hammer in order to install flange (13) into the bucket.

Temporarily install O-ring seals (6) on each flange of the bucket at the pin bore for the stick.

Start the engine, and lower the stick into the bucket until the pin bores are in alignment with each other. Stop the engine.

Make sure that the threaded puller hole in the end of bucket pin (8) is clean.
Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease on bucket pin (8).
Install Tooling (A) in the end of the bucket pin (8).
Install bucket pin (8) with a hammer.
Remove Tooling (A) from the bucket pin.
Put the retaining bolt hole in bucket pin (8) in alignment with the retaining bolt hole in the bucket.
Temporarily install retaining bolt (12) and two nuts (11).

Install plate (9) with shims (7).
Install bolts (10) and the washers. Tighten bolts (10) evenly.
Move the bucket to one side until the bucket contacts the stick.
Measure the clearance between the bucket and the stick at flange (13). Record this dimension.
Add or remove shims (7) between plate (9) and flange (13) until the Clearance (X) between the stick and the bucket is between 0.5 1.0 mm (0.02 0.04 inch).
If shims were added or removed, reinstall plate (9). Install the washers and bolts (10). Tighten bolts (10) evenly. Note: There are two different thicknesses of shims. Only use a minimum of three 7Y-7686 Shims for the C-Family buckets.Note: Only use a minimum of three 086-0321 Shims for the B-Family buckets.

Tighten retaining nut (11). Tighten the outside nut until the nut is even or 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) above the end of the retaining bolt. Tighten the inside nut against the outside nut.
