VALVE GP-SOLENOID 2631394 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the bolts and nuts (2) to remove cap (3) and shims from cylinder rod (1).2. Move rod (1) into the cylinder away from the bulldozer blade trunnion (4).3. Install the shims and cap (3) on rod (1) so they will not be mixed at installation. 4. Put identification on the hose assemblies for correct installation. Disconnect hose assemblies (5) and (6) at the radiator guard. 5. Fasten nylon straps and a hoist to lift cylinder (7). Remove the bolts that hold caps (8) to yoke (9) and remove lift cylinder (7). The weight of cylinder (7) is 231 kg (510 lb.). 6. Remove caps (10) from lift cylinder (7). 7. If replacement of bearing (11) is necessary, make an application of electrically welded material on the inside of bearing (11). 8. Remove guard (12) from quick drop valve (13). 9. Disconnect hose assemblies (14) and (16) at quick drop valve (13).10. Remove tube (15) from quick drop valve (13) and cylinder (7). 11. Remove quick drop valve (13) from cylinder (7). 12. If necessary, remove bearings (17) from cylinder (7).Install Bulldozer Lift Cylinders
1. Heat bearings (1) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F) and install them on each side of the lift cylinder trunnion. The bearings must not extend beyond the ends of the trunnion after installation. The outside diameter of the bearing must be 88.62 0.05 mm (3.489 .002 in.). 2. Install quick drop valve (3) on cylinder (2). See INSTALL QUICK DROP VALVE. 3. Put O-ring seals in tube assembly (5) and hose assemblies (4) and (6) and install tube assembly (5) on cylinder (2). Connect hose assemblies (4) and (6) to quick drop valve (7). 4. Install guard (8) on quick drop valve (7). 5. Use a press and tooling (A) to install the bearings in caps (9). 6. Fill (pack) caps (9) with 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease and install them on the lift cylinder trunnion. 7. Use two nylon straps and a hoist to lift cylinder (2) into position. Install the bolts that hold blocks (9) to yoke (10). 8. Put O-ring seals in hose assemblies (11) and (12) and connect the hose assemblies at the radiator guard. 9. Move lift cylinder rod (13) into position on the bulldozer blade trunnion. Install shims (15) and cap (14). Use only enough shims to get a clearance of 0.50 0.25 mm (.020 .010 in.) between the rod and trunnion. Tighten the bolts.10. Make sure the hydraulic system is filled with oil to the correct level. Operate the lift cylinders several times to remove the air in the system.Disassemble Bulldozer Lift Cylinders
