Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Open the hood.

Disconnect sensor (1) and remove cable straps (2).

Disconnect harness assembly (3), harness assembly (4), hose assembly (5), and hose assemblies (7). Disconnect bracket (6).

Disconnect clamp (8) and hose (10). Disconnect ball clamp assembly (9) and exhaust elbow (11).

Disconnect hose assembly (12).

Attach suitable lifting device to clean emissions module (13). The weight of clean emissions module (13) is approximately 227 kg (500 lb).

Remove four mount bolts (14). Remove clean emissions module (13). Installation Procedure
Install clean emissions module (13) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seal inside hose assembly (12).

Prior to installation, position ball clamp assembly (9).
Verify that the cup of the Ball Joint (C) does not touch the radius of the ball (B). Position ball clamp (9) and hand tighten ball clamp (9). Measure Dimension (Y) and Dimension (Z). Dimension (Y) and Dimension (Z) should be equal to each other. Repeat the measurements every 90° around ball clamp (9). If necessary, adjust ball clamp (9).
Tighten ball clamp assembly (9) to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft). Note: Do not use power tools in order to torque ball clamp assembly (9).
