1. Remove the guards over the recoil spring and hydraulic track adjuster. Loosen the track. See SEPARATION OF TRACKS on Page 181. 2. Put hydraulic jack (3) in position and lift the track off roller (2).3. Install tool (A) and fasten a hoist. Remove two bolts (1), then remove track carrier roller (2).Install Track Carrier Rollers
1. Put roller (1) in position on roller frame with tool (A) and a hoist.2. Install the two bolts (2) that hold roller in place. Remove hydraulic jack (3).3. Make an adjustment to the track. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE.4. Install the guards over the hydraulic jack adjuster and recoil spring.Disassemble Track Carrier Rollers
start by:a) remove track carrier roller 1. Remove bolts (1) and remove bracket (2) from the shaft. 2. Remove spiral ring (3). Remove collar (4) from the roller. 3. Remove the Duo-Cone seal (5) from the collar.4. Remove the Duo-Cone seal from the roller. 5. Turn the roller over. Remove the three bolts that hold cover (6) to the roller. Remove the cover from the roller. Remove the seal from the cover. 6. Remove two bolts (7), lock (9), and plate (8) from the end of the shaft. 7. Install tool (A) and remove shaft (10) from the roller. Remove the seal from the shaft. 8. Remove the bearing cone from the shaft with tooling (B). 9. Remove the two bearing cups (11) from the roller with a hammer and a punch.Assemble Track Carrier Rollers
1. Lower the temperature of bearing cups (1). Install the bearing cups in the roller. 2. Heat bearing cone (2) in oil to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C). Install the bearing cone on shaft (2) as shown.3. Install the shaft and bearing cone in the roller. 4. Heat bearing cone (4) in oil to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C). Install the bearing cone on the shaft. 5. Install plate (5), lock (7), and bolts (6) in the end of the shaft. Bend the lock against the bolts. 6. Put seal (8) in a mixture of soap and water. Install the seal on cover (9). Put the cover in position on the roller. Install the three bolts that hold the cover in position. 7. Turn the roller over. Install the Duo-Cone seal in the roller with tool (B). The rubber seals and all surfaces that make contact with the seals must be clean and dry. After installation of the seals, put oil on the contact surfaces of the metal seals.8. Install the Duo-Cone seal in the collar with tool (B).9. Put the seal for the shaft in a mixture of soap and water. Install the seal on the shaft. 10. Install collar (10) on the shaft. Install tooling (A) on the roller. Put the Duo-Cone seal under compression with tooling (A) and an arbor press until the spiral ring can be installed. Instal the spiral ring. 11. Make sure dowels are in alignment with the holes in the bracket. Put bracket (12) in position on
